| Other Information | First Somerset & Avon was formed in April 1999 when the Somerset operations of Southern National were sold to the First Group. Between 1999 and 2003 the company was branded as First Southern National. In 2003, when First Bristol`s regional services (Badgerline) were merged with First Southern National, the company was rebranded First Somerset & Avon. The operations of Taunton and Bridgwater passed under the management of First Devon & Cornwall in 2014, when the buses from these depots was rebranded The Buses of Somerset. In 2016 the operations of First Bristol and First Somerset & Avon were merged, forming First West of England, although the name was already partly in use since 2013.
