29 september 2008 - Sibiu (RO) – depou/zajezdnia. The other one of the two serviceable, ex-Geneve trailer cars has been converted into a café tram, thankfully without spoiling the outside view. Hermannstadt is the old German name for Sibiu, of course, and quite a few German tourists go there, but sadly not to ride the tram – the line is tucked away at the edge of town, so probably 95% of tourists don’t even know it’s there.

30 september 2008 - Sibiu (RO). Inside the café tram – a little drinks bar and some nice seating. It’s rarely used, though. The historic city centre of Sibiu has been beautifully restored – what a pity the tramway is just left to fade away.

29 september 2008 - Sibiu (RO) – depou/zajezdnia. There are only three motor cars and two trailers at Sibiu, all Swiss Standard types from Geneve. Two trams and two trailers are in working order – but only one solo tram is needed for the few journeys the line makes. Note the life-sized ‘dummies’ inside this trailer - I have no idea why they are there!
